The Puzzle

“The Puzzle” illustrates the distribution of Nick Sethi’s 2022 NYABF ticket edition created in collaboration with Printed Matter. The edition was a single piece from a 1728-piece puzzle, which started as assembled, and slowly got disassembled as visitors received their editions. Each visitor got to choose their desired piece, which was plucked from the puzzle by Sethi and placed in their hand, accompanied by a newsprint poster of the entire image. The book serves as a portrait of the hands, faces, and chosen pieces of those who received the edition on opening night.
